Who can use ETS services?
We provide equipment and services to instructors teaching courses
listed in the current Schedule
of Classes, University staff for departmental use, and representatives
of student groups.
What equipment is
in the classroom?
The ETS website provides a comprehensive Room
Info database, listing all of the media-equipped classrooms. Simply
click on a building name and then the classroom number to see an inventory
of the room's installed equipment and respective operating instructions.
Please try using this as your first point of reference for information.
If you still have questions, contact our staff in Dwinelle 44.
The advantages of using our on-line resources include the ability
to see pictures of the equipment as well as print out instructions
to take with you into the class.
How do I reserve a classroom with the equipment I want?
All room reservations must be made through your department scheduler.
The scheduler must be aware of your media requirements in order for
the
Registrar's Office
to assign you to the most appropriate classroom. Student groups and
others should refer to the registrar’s on-line instructions located
here.
Is there is a charge
for equipment?
Equipment is provided at no charge to support courses in the current
semester's Schedule of Classes.
Campus departments and organizations are charged a partially subsidized
recharge rate. For an overview of these costs, please refer to our
Campus Rates Page.
Non-campus organizations are subject to a full-rental fee.
Is there a charge for
DeCal classes or student groups?
We are implementing a one-year pilot program to provide open access
for student groups to the audio visual technology that is installed
in classrooms. Portable equipment that is checked out from Dwinelle
44 and the equipment closets will retain its usual schedule of fees.
Can ETS come set-up equipment
up for me?
Yes, we are happy to set up equipment. Every effort will be made to
assist you. Please give us adequate notice, preferably no later than
Thursday at noon of the week preceding your event or class.
We charge for all deliveries and set-ups. Simple equipment deliveries
to scheduled classes cost $35. All other deliveries have a $67 minimum.
For equipment set-up and/or operation, there is a charge of $67 per
hour for each technician. Our labor rate for weekend and after hours
events starts at $80 per hour, with a two hour minimum.
Can I sign out a key to
access installed equipment for the semester?
Yes, we do check out media classroom keys to faculty or GSIs for the
semester. Fill out the required key
form online or in 44 Dwinelle. Keys may also be checked out for
daily use from our online reservation
form.
What payment methods
do you accept?
We accept checks, Visa, Mastercard, or departmental account numbers.
If paying with check, we ask for two separate checks of the same amount:
one for the rental and the other for the deposit. We require payment
prior to releasing the equipment. Your deposit will be returned after
the equipment is returned and checked.
Does ETS help plan
and facilitate special events?
Yes, we're available to meet with you and assign a point person for
your event. In order to execute your special event professionally,
we need adequate time. Consulting fees apply in most cases.
